The band and I posted up at the dreamy dessert haven of Gatos Trail Recording Studio- just outside of Joshua Tree, and poured our soul into a group of songs that had been aching to be produced and recorded.
OFF THE MAP
“Off The Map” is the final chapter of Americana singer-songwriter Juliana Riccardi’s two-single series, The Nashville Sessions, whose first song, “Right On Time” received praise in Billboard Country News upon it’s release.
An acoustic anthem about the visceral desire to unplug and explore the outdoors, “Off The Map” makes listeners head out in the sun, looking up at the clouds and enjoying peace walking in the rain. The song’s delicate opening grows into an emotionally driven landscape with building layers of rhythm, harmony and power resulting in a cinematic story. The song is available to stream and download now on all digital platforms.

Billboard featured Americana artist, Juliana Riccardi, takes a synth-pop spin with “The Beginning” and breaks her mold. Written on piano in the mountains of Idylwild, California, and transformed in one studio session with analog toys, "The Beginning" is a heartfelt story of a dreamer who wakes up from a mundane routine and turns up the dial on those things she’s always desired. Her previous releases: "Full Cup" EP and "The Nashville Sessions" singles earned praise via Billboard Country, Spotify 'Healin' Blues', CMT.com, and DittyTV. When you hear Juliana, you hear a blend of soul, folk and pop - sung with emotional intention and a band (or toys) that rock.

On March 1, 2023, Juliana released "Right On Time (The Nashville Session)" - a song that reminds us to celebrate our journey which gained feature in Billboard and Rock & Blues Muse.
Blooming out of a time of change and embracing the thrills of new, fresh experiences, “Right On Time” is one half of Juliana Riccardi’s The Nashville Session recordings, a project born out of what Riccardi defined a ‘perfect mixture of risk and preparation.’ Co-produced and mixed by Nick Bullock, a producer-engineer from Neal Capellino’s The Doghouse Studio (Dolly Parton, Allison Kraus, Sheryl Crow), The Nashville Session singles were recorded live across an eye-opening, three-day trip bustling with creativity which gave Riccardi a groundbreaking studio vocal performance.
Beneath its gentle exterior, “Right On Time” is narrated with the confidence gained through hindsight and time passing – as its lyrics say, “You’re right on time... So, get out there, and please enjoy the ride.” Riccardi crafts an older presence looking over her younger self’s shoulder, reassuring herself and others that there is no such thing as wasted time.

‘Full Cup’ was written at a local coffee shop about starting the day on a positive note and it blossomed into something more— a song about perseverance, self love and romance with life. The song spent a few weeks on Spotify’s Healin’ Blues playlist and the music video was featured on Country Music Televsion’s All-In-One-Spot website. On these vintage white ceramic mugs, I’ve printed lyrics from the song along with the sentiment: YOU ARE A FULL CUP. I want you to start your day right, knowing and feeling you are full. ![Bonding analog and digital effects to create a textural firestorm, Juliana recorded Full Cup live at the historic Dreamland Recording Studio just outside of Woodstock, NY. The record was mixed by nine-time GRAMMY Award-Winner Darrell Thorp (Beck, Radiohead, Switchfoot, Jenny Lewis, Metric) and Will Hensley and was mastered by Jim Wilson. Accompanying Juliana on the EP is a critically acclaimed ensemble of longtime creative associates and dear friends including Will Hensley [guitar, pedal steel], Jeremy McDonald [bass], Nick D’Agostino [drums], Todd Caldwell [keys], Wayne Tucker [trumpet] and Runson Willis [harmonica] A project of reflection, the 7-track EP details a variety of moments from self-destruction to self-acceptance, hindrance to inspiration, and the importance of a strong foundation in the relationships we have not only with others, but also with ourselves.
