The band and I posted up at the dreamy dessert haven of Gatos Trail Recording Studio- just outside of Joshua Tree, and poured our soul into a group of songs that had been aching to be produced and recorded.
OFF THE MAP
“Off The Map” is the final chapter of Americana singer-songwriter Juliana Riccardi’s two-single series, The Nashville Sessions, whose first song, “Right On Time” received praise in Billboard Country News upon it’s release.
An acoustic anthem about the visceral desire to unplug and explore the outdoors, “Off The Map” makes listeners head out in the sun, looking up at the clouds and enjoying peace walking in the rain. The song’s delicate opening grows into an emotionally driven landscape with building layers of rhythm, harmony and power resulting in a cinematic story. Blooming out of a time of change and embracing the thrills of new, fresh experiences, “Right On Time” is one half of Juliana Riccardi’s The Nashville Session recordings, a project born out of what Riccardi defined a ‘perfect mixture of risk and preparation.’ Co-produced and mixed by Nick Bullock, a producer-engineer from Neal Capellino’s The Doghouse Studio (Dolly Parton, Allison Kraus, Sheryl Crow), The Nashville Session singles were recorded live across an eye-opening, three-day trip bustling with creativity which gave Riccardi a groundbreaking studio vocal performance.
